GAiN: Engineering Summer Mission

WHEN
Jun 1 2019 - Jun 30 2019
WHERE
MW
Because many communities in developing countries lack sanitary latrines, 1 billion people worldwide practice open defecation. This ultimately affects drinking water obtained from streams, ponds, and puddles. Understanding the effects of unsanitary water helps people protect themselves from germs that produce life-threatening illnesses.

You can help relieve the suffering of people of Malawi who live in these unsanitary conditions. By joining the GAiN® Engineering Summer Mission trip,  you have the opportunity to plan and execute the construction of a latrine and a retaining wall. You will see firsthand the practical and spiritual impact your engineering career path can have on a community.

In addition to engineering and construction work, you will explore ways to integrate ministry into your career as you spend time with local Cru® staff members sharing the hope of Jesus with people in the heart of Malawi.

The GAiN engineering summer mission is open to college students majoring in engineering, construction management, sciences, or similar fields.

The trip dates are June 1 – June 30.

The first two weeks will consist of special training in Orlando, Florida. The remaining time will be spent in Malawi, executing engineering and construction projects such as latrines and retaining walls, as well as serving with local Cru staff members.
To apply, please complete and submit the summer missions application. All applicants will receive a response by January 31.
The listed trip cost is an estimate and does not include airfare. Final trip costs will be determined by February 2019.
